good friend has passed We're sorry to report that George, a good customer of the cafe and a neighbor of mine, has passed away after a long and engaging life. George didn't quite reach his 97th birthday, but he continued to keep the cafe staff on their toes even through his last visit, which was shortly before the cafe closed. George and his wife Sally came to the cafe at least once a week for lunch. George never hesitated to tell us his thoughts regarding the status of either the food we served or the condition of the world. He will be missed by many. Café Lyon closed We regret that Café Lyon closed May 31. We appreciate having had your patronage and of having been able to serve you. What will happen to the café Several parties have expressed an interest in the cafe, either to purchase it or to sublet the space. Thus far no agreements have been reached. It appears that I will not find funding to get the cafe to its next stage of growth or to return it to its former level of operation. However, pending the resolution of potential sales or sublets, it is possible that I will reopen the cafe in a substantially reduced operation. If you would like to be kept abreast of the status of the cafe, please email information@cafelyon.com. |
